William talks fondly about passing the torch onto the next generation of dealers.

It all starts with trust. 

As most of the senior dealers know, I take a lot of pride in teaching the UWD selling system. I also loved selling most of your first deals when you opened your doors. 

With that said, it took a lot of trust and faith that Bob Sharkey could continue the momentum I’d built before I passed him the torch. So now it gives me great joy to shout his praises from the UWD corporate rooftop. 

During his last trip to two cities (Philadelphia, PA and Rockland, NY), Bob masterfully used the UWD selling system and went six out of eight. This is the stuff that legends are made of. 

The best part is, while Bob was cementing his place in the UWD record books, I was able to be in Toledo helping Adam and Caleb get started. We set 82 leads in three days and Caleb closed his first deal. 

Our 2016 January dealer meeting was about people. In my experience, to grow your business you not only need people, you need to have trust in those people and feel confident that they will do what you expect them to do. 

So the moral of my story this month is to let go of control and have faith in others. The only way you can grow your business is with their help.
